The fourth China Hospital Knowledge Database (CHKD) ranking list was recently released, with Peking University School of Stomatology (PKU-SS) ranking among the top 10 with a score of 132.9. PKU-SS was also the only specialized hospital to make it into the top 10, demonstrating its outstanding capability of transforming intangible assets into tangible values.

PKU-SS has recently been focusing on a national strategy for innovation-driven development. Guided by the developing strategic ideas of Peking University Health Science Center, and supported by state platforms such as the National Engineering Laboratory of Dental Digital Medical Technology and Materials, National Clinical Research Center for Oral Diseases, and National Medical Products Administration Center for Quality Supervision and Inspection of Oral Medical Devices, PKU-SS has succeeded in establishing an innovation-driven healthcare system that combines basic scientific research, product testing, clinical trials, and real-life case studies. The commercialization of scientific and technological achievements of PKU-SS is featured in numerous digital technology products and biomaterials. During the 13th Five Year Plan period, the number of authorized patents as well as acquired software copyrights also increased significantly, with over 100 clinical translation achievements having been accomplished.

The China Hospital Knowledge Database (CHKD), released by the Shanghai Zhuoyang intellectual property agency, aims to evaluate achievements in intellectual property (IP) among hospitals in China. It carries out comprehensive inspections based on four levels of competence: the ability to create, apply, protect, and manage various forms of IP, such as patents, brands, and copyrights.
