The Second Clinical Division of Peking University School of Stomatology was established in 2001 with a total number of 288 employees. There are 116 clinical dentists, among whom 62(accounting for 53.4%) have doctor's degrees and 34 (accounting for 29.3%) have master's degrees. The Second Clinical Division covers an area of more than 4,448 square meters and is accepting more than 160,000 patients per year. Over the years, the number of its dental units has grown up to 70, which distributes in clinical departments such as periodontal, prosthodontic, dental pulp, orthodontic, comprehensive medical, comprehensive teaching, comprehensive prevention, maxilofacial surgery, pediatric, implant and technician room etc. The Second Clinical Division is always working on providing international standard oral treatments. Apart from conventional treatments, orthodontic treatment with aligners, effective orthodontic treatment with light force and low-friction, micro power system aided tooth extraction, periodontal esthetic surgery, prosthodontic esthestics, multidisciplinary collaboration oral treatment design, pediatric anethesia surgery, endodontic and root tip treatment with microscope are also carried out regularly.

As one of the practical teaching base of Peking university school of stomatology, the teaching office of the second clinical division was founded in 2007 to manage different teaching arrangements, which included organizing clinical practice of doctoral students and postgraduate students, the standardized training of residents, continuing education of visiting students and exchange students. Meanwhile, the second clinical division also undertook collaborative master degree education named PKU-HKU conjoint international postgraduate programme in periodontology.

Moreover, the Second Clinical Division had devoted a lot to advanced scientific researches during the past years. As a result, 12 grants from domestic such as National Natural Science Foundation of China, Ministry of Science and Technology, and international like ITI were awarded to second clinical division, which totaled up to more than 14 million RMB. Besides, the Second Clinical Division had also obtained 5 patents, for example "Custom-made Root-analogue Implants" . In 2016, it even make success in leading national key research and development programme “R&D of key technologies for Custom-made Root-analogue Implants, Maxillofacial bones, Temporomandibular joint fabricated by additive manufacturing”.

The Second Clinical Division is always guided by the head school motto "Moral, Learned, Exquisite and Charitable" and making every endeavor to follow the vision of "people oriented , standardization and innovation , to create a better life" .
